50th Annual OVU Lectureship Series Dates Announced for 2008

VIENNA, WV --- The Ohio Valley University School of Biblical Studies recently announced the 2008 Lectureship Series dates as April 6-9. The event will take place on the OVU campus in Vienna, West Virginia.

Now in its 50th year, the Lectureship will feature more than a dozen presenters from around the country, many of whom are, or were, professors and department heads in OVU’s School of Biblical Studies, said Lectureship coordinator and OVU Assistant Professor of Bible and Communications G. K. Pennington.

Additional presenters include: Dr. Charles Aebi (Vincent, Ohio), Steve Bonner, (Paris, Tennessee), Dr. Bill Bowen (Parkersburg, West Virginia), Tom Butterfield (OVU Director of Church Relations), Cassandra Martin (Spring, Texas), Steve McLean (Lockney, Texas), Dr. Jim Morgan (Nashville, Tennessee), Dr. James Nesmith (Richmond, Virginia), Dr. Robert Solomon (Columbus, Ohio) and Dr. Philip Sturm (OVU Professor of History).

“The Lectureship Series began a year before Ohio Valley University was established in 1958, and served as a kick-off event for the university,” Pennington explained. “It is wonderful to know that we have been a part of the community for 50 years and have been able to offer events such as this.”

Lectures and classes are free and open to the public. Advance dinner reservations are required.
