VIENNA, WV -- The Ohio Valley University Stepping Stones are stepping out for an evening on the river, and they are inviting the public to join them, on Thursday, October 18 from 6:30-9:00 p.m.
The ladies auxiliary group will host an evening on the river where guests will enjoy viewing Ohio and West Virginia’s scenic fall foliage while feasting on a sumptuous dinner aboard the authentic Ruble’s Sternwheeler. Live entertainment will be provided by the OVU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Andrew Cook.
Cost is $20 per adult and $10 for children ages 3 to 12. Tickets may be reserved or purchased by contacting Teresa Wade at 304-424-1924. The boat will embark from Point Park in downtown Parkersburg at 6:30 p.m.
The OVU Stepping Stones, a national organization started by Church of Christ women in 1959, includes 33 chapters in nine states with more than 900 women participating. Through bake sales, catering services, candy sales, and a variety of special events, chapters raise over $175,000 annually for student scholarships, campus beautification projects and the general support of faith-based higher education, through Ohio Valley University. In the past 48 years the organization has raised more than $4 million.
